Geisinger has launched a telemedicine platform as a replacement for outpatient consultations. Patients can get various healthcare facilities by getting in touch with specialists virtually. New York becomes the latest state to grant full authority to nurse practitioners

In New York, nurse practitioners (NPs) have legislatively been given the right to practice full authority. Gov. Kathy Hochul signed the state budget into law, making New York the latest state to pass this legislation. Nurse practitioners full practice authority will enable nurses to run essential tests, execute diagnoses, prescribe appropriate medication, and manage treatments without the necessity of getting the agreement signed by their supervising physician. This law will relieve the healthcare system, especially the workforce, from the strain as it struggles after the pandemic.
