The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) staff said that the vaccine manufactured by Pfizer and BioNTech is safe to be used for children under the age of 5 as it blocks the virus response without showing any side-effects. The FDA scientists made this analysis and the company’s independent experts will submit a request for the emergency use authorisation (EUA) of Pfizer-BioNTech in younger children. After recommendations have been made by the advisors, the FDA may clear the vaccine for usage if the panel advises so. If the vaccine is cleared, the shots of Pfizer-BioNTech may be available in the beginning of next week.
