Food Is Medicine: It is not as simple as taking a pill

According to research, medical practitioners’ dietary recommendations can save health-care expenditures while also improving well-being. Food prescriptions are not as simple as pill prescriptions. Tony Hsieh, a San Francisco-based entrepreneur, is expanding his “food is medicine” endeavour. The California Department of Health Care Services has given him little advice on what he should buy. Processed foods have been related to chronic illnesses and an increased risk of mortality. Food fortification with vitamins and minerals can help avoid anaemia and other deficiencies-related disorders. However, it cannot provide the more complete nutrients provided by entire foods.
