Northern Centre for Clinical Research (NCCR) will focus on research relevant to north

New Northern Centre for Clinical Research (NCCR) to be launched for the purpose of opening more avenues in North for clinical and biomedical research that will eventually enhance care for individuals residing in the north. The objective of this centre is to work with Indigenous and norther practitioners, researchers, and the patients so as to ensure better health outcomes. B.C.’s Minister of Health, Adrian Dix, says that life sciences are of prime importance for the public healthcare system and newer technologies assist in improving them. This centre will be situated at the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) in Prince George. This research centre will be concentrated on running clinical trials pertaining to remote, northern and native populations.
