Northwell Health Pregnancy Chats, a recently launched chatbot at Northwell Health, aims to reduce morbidity and mortality rates among pregnant women via the use of artificial intelligence (AI)-based technologies and virtual care services. The chatbot employs technology to assist in identifying critical issues and directing patients to the nearest emergency department.

Northwell Health has 21 hospitals, 900 facilities, and more than 12,000 connected physicians. Northwell Health Pregnancy Chats are intended to supplement patients’ discussions with their clinicians. The chatbot was rated positively by 96 percent of the 1,632 patients who tried it. Avera Health uses telehealth and remote patient monitoring to enhance maternity care outcomes and rural healthcare access.
