Novavax reaches Taiwan to fight COVID-19

Taiwan is all set to welcome the Novavax vaccine for use against COVID-19 after mainly using AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer/BioNTech, and locally developed Medigen vaccines. The delivery of Novavax will be received under the scheme of COVAX sharing. 504,000 doses will arrive at the main international airport of Taipei, informs the country’s Central Epidemic Command Centre. Novavax has not yet been authorised in the US. However, more than 40 countries, including Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, have been using this vaccine for COVID-19. Novavax showed an efficacy rate of 90% during two last-stage trials.
