UC Davis Health unveils WellCent, which accelerates innovation in the digital health space

The first firm to emerge from UC Davis Health’s health tech innovation incubator has been unveiled. WellCent is a platform that enables patients and carers to integrate medical equipment into their residences. Chrysanthy Demos created the company with the goal of accelerating the development of digital health technologies.

WellCent’s platform not only assists individuals in incorporating medical devices into their homes (such as remote patient monitoring technology or physical therapy equipment), but it also links carers to a patient’s home so they can monitor how their loved one is doing. The business delivers training tools to patients and carers to make the process of incorporating new health technology into their everyday routines less frightening and complex. According to Ashish Atreja, UC Davis Health’s chief information officer and chief digital health officer, the platform also features telehealth technologies that allow patients to engage with their care teams at hospitals and clinics.
