Aga Khan University’s Hayat App wins Silver Medal at Digital Health Awards 2023

Aga Khan University’s Hayat app has been honoured with a silver medal at the International Digital Health Awards 2023, specifically in the Mobile Digital Health Resources category. The app’s innovative approach to leveraging technology for improved healthcare access earned it recognition. Hayat has significantly contributed to strengthening the public health system in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, by streamlining processes and reducing paperwork, resulting in enhanced capacity for health workers and improved accountability. The app’s interoperable system has facilitated better coordination and communication between healthcare programmes, bridging the gap between different initiatives. Since its launch in 2019, Hayat has registered over 441,000 beneficiaries, conducted 192,000 educational awareness sessions, and currently supports over 1,200 workers, making healthcare more accessible in remote regions of Pakistan. The app was previously recognised at the Commonwealth Digital Health Awards in 2022.
