Kroger’s healthcare division launches a clinical trial network

Kroger Health, the supermarket chain’s healthcare division, has created a clinical trial network. The business will collaborate with trial sponsors and perform clinical studies in pharmacies and clinics. To keep patients participating in clinical trials, it will also leverage virtual care and digital health technologies. Pharmacists might have a bigger role in patient care. Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, and Amazon are all expanding into health-care delivery. Pharmacists are “on track to become the heart of community healthcare,” according to Kroger’s Lindholz.
