Partnering with other healthtech startups, WHO launches AI-based healthcare worker

WHO has launched an AI-sponsored healthcare worker that can spread information on different health-related topics in seven different languages. Earlier on, this virtual worker, named Florence, was being used to combat misinformation regarding health. Florence may offer assistance on how to eat healthy, get more active, stop using tobacco and e-cigarettes, as well as discuss strategies for relieving stress. She may also provide details on the COVID-19 vaccination and other topics. In order to engage with researchers, public health organisations, entrepreneurs, and policymakers, WHO released the beta version of Florence 2.0 at the (World Innovation Summit for Health) WISH conference. The organisation also plans to keep developing the digital health worker to help address today’s most pressing health issues.
