Alder Hey Children Hospital, a Liverpool-based hospital, shook hands with PixelMax, an immersive communication platform, to help create ‘hospital metaverse’. PixelMax has replicated Alder Hey’s radiology department, which will enable young patients to visit the hospital by wearing a VR headset before they make an on-site visit. Children will acquaint themselves with the environment from which they are familiar so that they feel comfortable in a setting that is not very hospital-like. This metaverse experience is an extension of Alderplay’s, a digital platform that is focused on education and entertainment.
