Taiwan to improve healthcare services for elderly through AI and Robots

Taiwan is facing a disproportionate number of the elderly people. To combat this issue and ensure proper care for them, Taiwan intends to introduce an AI-based hospital, The NCKU Geriatric Hospital. AI Robotic and other tech devices will help patients and doctors to carry out successful communication remotely. An AI programmed language translator has also been devised, which is quite helpful as most senior citizens in Taiwan speak Hokkien and the device currently translates Mandarin to Hokkien. Development of robots for their assistance is also in progress. The said robots will not only accompany the elderly outside the hospital, but they will also be programmed to analyse their medical records and sugar levels while reminding them to take medication on time. Taiwan is all set to fight off the expected challenges in the near future.
