Cardinal Research explores inequities that oncologists face

Oncology Insights is a biennial, research-based study from Cardinal Health that was just published. The 12th edition of Oncology Insights concentrates on patient variation, health equality in oncology, clinical services, and symptom surveillance. It includes viewpoints from almost 200 oncologists around the country. According to the study, nearly half of oncologists believe that there are particular injustices in cancer care, and 80% believe that there are disparities throughout the healthcare system.

This study demonstrates that, despite advancements in cancer therapy, some groups of patients still have more frequent and severe side effects. According to the report, over 60% of oncologists believe that unconscious prejudice exists in U.S. healthcare, and 80% of oncologists believe that health disparities affect access to care, time to diagnosis, and treatment.
