Geisinger has expanded telehealth services to combat lack of primary care

Geisinger has launched a telemedicine platform as a replacement for outpatient consultations. Patients can get various healthcare facilities by getting in touch with specialists virtually. Since rural areas of Pennsylvania lack basic healthcare privileges, Geisinger has stepped up to expand the existing telehealth programme. 2000 physicians and more than 500 paramedics are now well-equipped with the technology essential to operate telemedicine. Geisinger’s objective was to open more virtual avenues to offer a better quality of health facilities at an affordable rate. This initiative has been taken to alleviate the issues of rural communities.
