CellGro Technologies develops innovative cell growth technology for advancing medical discoveries and treatments

CellGro Technologies, a company co-founded by a University of Nebraska professor, is developing a new technology that allows researchers to grow various types of cells in a small environment. The technology aims to advance discoveries and treatments for a wide range of diseases and conditions. Founded in 2017 by Hendrik Viljoen and Yuguo Lei, CellGro Technologies builds upon the concept of growing cells inside hollow tubes, similar to an embryo growing in an amniotic sac. The company has engineered an extrusion technology to produce small tubes with cells, which are then placed in bioreactors for larger-scale growth. This technology has the potential to enhance cell therapy and personalised treatments. With the guidance of the Nebraska Business Development Centre, CellGro Technologies is seeking grants to further develop its bioreactors and expand its impact in the field of cell therapy.
